History of Red Sox Timeline

I made a timeline of the history of the Boston Red Sox. It can be found here.

Circus Project: Blog Post #5

The group project was an overall success. The brainstorming process was not stressful and painless. I feel like I did contribute a lot in terms of researching facts and prices for different forms of live family entertainment. I thought the final product ended up looking very neat and professional with facts and good slides.

Black Friday + Cyber Monday: Blog Post #4

To me, Black Friday is not that big of a deal. I have never gone Black Friday shopping and I probably never will, because I don't care enough to waste my sleep for shopping. It is a good idea and obviously gets more customers and money, but it's not my thing. I think it's weird that lately stores start sales on Thanksgiving day at 4 or 5pm. We are supposed to be 'thankful' on Thanksgiving yet stores are urging customers to leave their houses and families to go shopping. Cyber Monday is a better idea in my opinion, because online shopping is easier and I don't have to leave my house at midnight and drive places to get good deals. I have nothing against people who do it and I think it completely depends on your own opinion, whether you want to go Black Friday shopping or not. I would assume that Cyber Monday might bring in more money, due to how easy it is to shop online from your house. Overall, I think both things are a good idea for the people that want to go shopping & nothing is stopping them.

Just Laugh! Magazine

My magazine is titled 'Just Laugh! Magazine' and it is based on comedy TV shows. The target market throughout the magazine is directed towards both boys and girls, ages 14 and up. The people buying the magazine would be both teenagers and adults. It is a good magazine because it relates to a lot of age groups, considering comedy is for everyone. Even though the magazine isn't directed towards kids, I think it would sell a lot at the low price of $4.99.

Blog #2: Promoting My Drink

Part 1
1  Advertise the drink in the Yale newspaper or magazine.
2  Talk about the drink on the official Yale radio station.
3  Pay to get the drink put on the Yale website

Part 2
Get the flyer for the drink mailed to each student's mail slot.
Put the drink advertisement in local New Haven, CT newspapers AND in the Yale newspaper.
Put the advertisement in the magazine for the university.
Mail coupons for the drink with each newsletter sent home to parents of students.
Have a sign at all the sports stadiums and gyms at Yale promoting the drink.

Part 3
I priced my drink based on common drinks I see in the stores today. $0.86 is a very low price to pay and I think it is a fair price to use for my product. I think the price would benefit the sales of the drink, considering its low price. I'm not asking college students to pay $3 or $4 just for a sports drink. Since most college students don't have a lot of money, I think they, as well as the community, would benefit from this low price for a good drink.

My Sports Drink

Drink Name: The Fighting Bulldog
Slogan: Play longer. Play better. Play like a bulldog.
College: Yale University

3 Things I Liked:

  1. We could pick our own colleges to use.
  2. We could be creative with drink names and slogans.
  3. It felt like we were creating an actual brand.
2 Things I Learned:
  1. A lot of promotion is needed to be planned out to make a product.
  2. Location is a huge deal and it is important to know the target market and where to sell the product.
1 Thing I Didn't Like:
  1. Creating the 4 P's poster and label for the drink, it was hard because I'm not creative or artistic in any way.

Advertisements For First Talking Movie

The first talking movie was called The Jazz Singer, released in 1927. It was directed by Alan Crosland. It was produced by Warner Brothers, so they promoted it. It was a huge deal because nothing like that had ever been created. Magazines gave mostly positive reviews because of how revolutionary it was. None of the Warner brothers were able to attend the premiere. The budget of the film was $422,000 and it made $3.9 million in the box office in the US. This is good because they made profit on the film.

My First Blog Post

My name is Evan DiMambro. My favorite activities include going on the internet and watching TV. Also, swimming in the Summer and sledding in the Winter. I have a brother who is 18 years old and goes to Merrimack College. I also have a mom and dad. My all time favorite TV show is "Friends", and I also like "Modern Family" and "The Middle". My favorite movies include "We're the Millers", "The Parent Trap" and "Ted". I don't read often but one of my favorite books is "The Big Field" by Mike Lupica. My favorite sport would probably be baseball as I enjoy following the MLB the most out of all the leagues. Some of my favorite players are Brock Holt and Mike Trout.
